Taylor Swift surprised a whole lot of people with her outfit choice for the 2015 MTV Video Music Awards held at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles on Sunday. The leggy singer ditched her usual mini skirts and dreamy long gowns in favor of funky houndstooth-patterned sequined separates. The combo included a crop top that showcased her midriff and some high waist crop pants. She kept her hair neat and tidy in a low pony tail and wore dark cat-eye makeup to complement the disco-worthy attire. Sealing the deal were a pair of sky-high mixed-media criss-cross pumps from Louboutin.
Taylor just didn’t look fantastic in the whole getup. She was fashion-forward, sophisticated, and fabulous. Check out her pics below, then tell me if you agree:

The outfit is a big deviation from her usual red carpet garb, but I really like it. The combo is from Ashish. I believe you can find a similar version online.
That said, the highlight of her outfit would have to be the footwear. They’re the “Sharpstagram”, a style detailed with elastic criss-cross straps at the vamps, a d’Orsay silhouette, pointed toes, and slim 4.5-inch-tall heels. I couldn’t find Taylor’s mixed-media version anywhere, but below is the black patent pair for you to check out:

If you want something different from the usual pumps, the Sharpstagram are a great option to consider. That is, if you’re willing to spend a whole lot of cash for ’em. Too bad that they only come in classic black and nude online. If I had the moolah, I’d go for Taylor’s colorful pair.
By the way, in case you weren’t able to watch, Taylor won a bunch of awards yesterday, including Video of the Year, so congratz are definitely in order. Great job Taylor!
