vanka Trump appears to have done a stylish U-turn overnight, stepping out in a weather-appropriate long, thick coat and knee-high boots on Friday morning, just 24 hours after facing the same bitter temperatures with bare arms.
The 36-year-old first daughter also looked as though her mood may have matched the slightly chilly day, and she failed to raise so much as a small smile for the waiting photographers while making her way to a waiting SUV.
Wrapping up warm against the cold 44-degree D.C. weather, Ivanka wore a long black double-breasted coat, which she paired with some funky $189 knee-high boots from her own fashion line that featured quirky jewel embellishments on the heel.

She topped off the rather dark and broody look with a statement smokey eye, and wore her hair in a sleek straight style, allowing her locks to blow around her face in the chilly wind as she left her home. Ivanka’s departure was followed by some aides who were carrying pieces of luggage out to an SUV, perhaps in preparation for today’s trip to Biddeford, Maine, where she will push her father’s tax reform policies. The former businesswoman actually returned to the US from Japan last week, instead of joining President Donald Trump on his 12-day trip around Asia, in order to continue promoting the reform while he is away, which she did on Friday when she arrived in Biddeford, Maine, to take part in a forum on the subject alongside U.S. Sen. Susan Collins and U.S. Treasurer Jovita Carranza. Luckily, Ivanka appeared to have perked up by the time she arrived at the event, taking to the stage with a big smile on her face, wearing the same jeweled knee-high boots, but leaving her coat behind

Instead, Ivanka showed off a chic grey plaid dress which fell just above the knee and was cinched in with a thick black leather belt. And while the businesswoman holds down the fort at home, her husband Jared Kushner is by Trump’s side as he continues his trip, along with several other members of his innermost circle, including Sarah Huckabee Sanders and former Ivanka Trump employee Hope Hicks, 29, who now serves as the White House communications director. By the time Ivanka hit the stage on Friday, however, Jared was on his way to Alaska with First Lady Melania Trump, where she is meeting with military families.

Luckily, she only had a few feet to go until she could step inside her Secret Service SUV waiting for her outside of her home in the upscale neighborhood of Kalorama. The first daughter traveled on a solo trip to Japan last week to discuss female entrepreneurship, and promptly came back to the US to advocate for her father’s proposed tax reform.

The president and his entourage began their visit in Japan and South Korea and are currently in China. They will later visit Vietnam and the Philippines. Jared has been pictured during several official functions, including a bilateral meeting held by President Trump and Chinese President Xi Kinping at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing on Thursday.

Pretty pearls are a huge trend this season, thanks to the likes of Stella McCartney, Nicholas Kirkwood and 3.1 Phillip Lim. You need only walk into your nearest Zara store and you’ll find pearls aplenty! Ivanka Trump tried the trend when she stepped out in these suede over the knee boots, which feature subtle pearl adornment on the blocky heel.

It almost goes without saying that they are of course from her own fashion line and they are available over at Amazon if you’ve fallen head over heels in love. Or take your pick from the similar options in our edit below:
