Tea-length dresses aren’t exactly the most flattering. But, they can be depending on what you wear ‘em with. This summer, you don’t have to resort to short frocks and skimpy daisy dukes. Give your style a ladylike flavor by sporting tea-length, otherwise also know as midi, dresses with your summer sandals. One piece to consider would be the tea length tank dress. Yes, it’s figure skimming, but it doesn’t have to be look tacky or vulgar. A tank dress that ends a few inches below the knees (or just right above the calves) is a good choice.

For style inspiration, take a cue from Rosie Huntington Whiteley. The model was spotted doing some groceries at Whole Foods in Beverly Hills the other weekend, and for the activity, she wore a red tank dress teamed with tasseled gladiator sandals. Complementing the getup  were dark sunnies, some dainty necklaces, and a black Saint Laurent clutch.

It was a laid-back and casual ensemble, but Rosie looked polished and put-together nonetheless. The length of her dress made her appear classy like a fine lady.

So do you think you can channel Rosie’s summer outfit and pull it off?

The trick lies in your color choice. Go with a classic yet bold like red or emerald green for your tank dress. If you’re not comfy with the colors, try earthy tones instead. Here’s an option from Culture Phit:

If you have slim legs, feel free to wear the dress with dark gladiator sandals. But for those who want a more flattering appearance, nude gladiator sandals will be the best option. Here’s a good candidate from Loeffler Randall.
