Katy Perry arrived at the Grammys in a silvery fringed frock reminiscent of ostrich feathers and flapper girls.

Oh, don’t get me wrong. The piece was exquisite. But for some reason, it failed to create the expected impact. Mind you, it was a Zuhair Murad creation. But I couldn’t bring myself to say wow.

Maybe it was because Katy’s hair, which was was bright purple, clashed with the glittery dress. Or perhaps it was because she paired it with sandals that looked lukewarm at best. Or maybe, just maybe, she failed to impress because she wore nothing but undies with the super sheer number. Check out Katy below, then tell me what you think:

What do you think peepz, did Katy nail it or fail it?

You know, had the dress been floor length and had she worn a slip, she would have looked a whole lot better. Would you agree?

Or if she really wanted to go with the knee-length hemline, simple but jeweled heels (such as the pair below) would have suited the dress more. Yes?

Katy’s three-band sandals are the Tamara Mellon “Frontline”. They feature slim metallic straps detailed with clear PVC, as well as slender 3.75-inch-tall heels. Below is a closer look:

How do you like the Frontline?

Not my type, I’m afraid. And like I said, they look lukewarm at best. Of course, you can have an entirely different opinion of the pair. If you fancy the shoes, you’re free to shop for them online.
