Yes. Katie Holmes succumbed to the see-through fashion trend. She rocked a pair of sheer lace trousers while attending Chanel’s Tribeca Film Festival Artists Dinner in New York on Monday.

Before you start bashing the woman, I urge you to check her outfit first, and then maybe you can place your judgement.

Katie wore sheer high-waist lace trousers and a simple black sleeveless blouse for the occasion. The pants were cut semi-wide at the bottom and ended just below her ankles — just enough to showcase the sexy ankle strap sandals she used to go with. The separates were in black, and she highlighted the dark attire with a pink Chanel purse.

In fairness to the actress, her pants had large flower patterns on them, so you can only see bits of skin; nothing tacky or tasteless, actually. In fact, I think she looked wonderful in the geteup. The cut of her pants flattered her figure and elongated her legs, especially with the heels in place. Check out Katie below, and then tell me if you agree:

She’s lookin’ good in these photos. Yes?

Katie’s sheer lace pants are from Chanel’s resort 2016 collection. If you like them, head over to your seamstress and have them copied. I couldn’t find any details on her ankle-strap sandals, but they remind me quite a lot of these sandals from Francesco Russo:

What do you think of my hunch? Right on target?

I’m assuming Katie’s pair come in another color combination. The Francesco Russo sandals feature 4-inch-tall heels, patent leather straps, and leopard print calfhair heel cups. They’re currently available at Net-A-Porter for $995.

For the frugal fashionistas in the mood to shop for a fresh pair of ankle-strap sandals, you can try these options from Chinese Laundry and Steve Madden.
