It’s no secret that while Jessica Simpson has a fashion line of her own, she rarely steps out in the pieces she sells. She prefers designer goods, period.

On Thursday, the singer-turned businesswoman was spotted in New York City in a very catchy ensemble comprised of a fur coat, a colorful Fendi bag, and a pair of fancy OTK boots. Underneath her topper was a matching combo of crop top and pencil skirt. To add a dash of cool into the equation, Jess used round-rimmed eyewear. I don’t know if she was wearing anything from her own collection, but I can’t deny that she looked good in the getup.

How do you like Jessica’s New York street style? Did she over decorate?

I like how she mixed different textures to achieve the look. Fur mixed with suede and patent makes a truly tactile combination. Plus, of course, who can ignore the colorful Fendi purse. It’s a statement on its own. Add the furry key chain and voila! You own the room.

I couldn’t find any details on Jessica’s coat, but her sunnies are from Miu Miu while her boots are from Tom Ford. The Fendi purse and key chain are available online if you wish grab ’em.

Here’s a closer look at Jessica’s mixed-media boots. They’re crafted from patent and suede leather materials. They also feature whipstitch detailing at the panel seams. They are quite unique and unlike any other. However, I personally think they aren’t for the faint of heart. You have to be bold and daring enough to give ’em a spin. Plus, of course, they’re a little tricky to wear.

They look a lot like patchwork boots. Don’t you think? Will you wear a pair if you had one?

I don’t think I will, but that’s only because I’m fond of classic boots. However, I do love the whip-stitch detailing on the 4.5-inch-tall chunky heels. The decoration gives the boots an even more distinct flavor.

You can find Jessica’s Tom Ford boots at MyTheresa. They retail at a whopping price of $2590.
