I like Jamie Chung. I like her more as a fashionista than a Hollywood celeb. The cutie is such a fantastic dresser. If you’re not familiar with Jamie’s fashion prowess, check out her blog. The girl can dress, period. She’s one of the rare people in Hollywood who actually doesn’t need a stylist.

Last week, Jamie was spotted attending an event in New York with Chrissy Teigen. For the occasion, the actress donned a simple black midi dress, but styled the piece with a blue leather jacket and black ankle booties. Normally, such a combination wouldn’t be flattering on someone petite, but Jamie managed to get away with it thanks to the monochromatic frock. She also belted the dress on the waist, and doing so made her legs look longer.

A few days later, Jamie was spotted out and about with her friend, Cara Santana. She wore the same type of outfit, and even had on the same pair of booties. This time, she decked herself in a white midi dress and topped the frock with a checkered blazer. The look was on-point and very chic. And just like before, she managed to make the midi-dress-ankle-boots combination work.

How do you like Jamie’s latest street style?

I’m a fan, obviously. I guess it helps that she’s very slender and blessed with long legs. But even if you’re petite, you can get away with this type of outfit for as long as you keep things monochromatic. If you have to, you can create the illusion of longer legs  by cinching your natural waist (high waist), or by wearing a high-waist midi skirt.

Now on to Jamie’s boots, any idea where she scored those shoes?

I love the silhouette. They look sleek, sophisticated, and very modern.  They also seem so familiar. In fact, they remind me of the Jimmy Choo “Vaunt”, only, with cutouts on the sides. You can check out the Vaunt below:

For the gals loving Jamie’s boots but don’t want to spend too much on shoes, my recommendation would be the Joe’s Jeans “Archie”. This pair is crafted from suede and leather, features pointy toes, and comes with 4-inch tall heels. The deal breaker is the price. A set will only set you back $175 — which is a lot less compared to, say, spending $900 on boots.

To steal Jamie’s style, pair the shoes with a midi or below-the-knee dress in classic black or white and you’re all set!
