Guess what happened in New York City early this week?
The 2016 CFDA Fashion Awards, that’s what.
Much like the MET Gala, though not as big, it’s a night to remember each year as models and celebrities put their best, er, fashion forward for the press and the people watching. A lot of the ladies who attended looked spectacular as they walked the red carpet, but one gal who caught my eye was Gabrielle Union.
The actress was decked in a striped floor-grazing frock detailed with an unusual neckline. The dress showcased her smooth shoulders and tiny waist. Complementing the getup were a diamond cuff bracelet, a very neat high ponytail, and a black clutch.

How do you like Gabrielle’s latest red carpet style? Dramatic enough or do you think she could have done better?
It’s a simple yet elegant ensemble with bits of unique twists to it like the layered three-strap neckline and the sheer panel on the waist. The highlight of her outfit, however, would have to be the shoes she used to go with. Gabrielle reportedly wore these criss-cross sandals from Pedro Garcia.

I’m guessing Gabrielle wore the black and white version. The sandals look modern and sophisticated, yet elegant and timeless at the same time. I also love the very clean and streamlined silhouette.
