I’m a big Emma Stone fan. Her style is hard to define, but preppy would be one of the words I’d use to describe it. On the red carpet, she always looks sophisticated, feminine, and elegant. When she’s off duty, she’s more preppy than anything else.

On Saturday, the actress stepped out with her man, Andrew Garfield, in a fabulously put together layered ensemble that I just had to share with you today. It’s a copy-worthy attire of mixed-patterns and simple everyday pieces.

Emma wore a red tartan shirt and blue skinny jeans for her day out in NYC, then topped the combo with a navy-and-white striped sweater and a black coat. She complemented the pairing with red-rimmed eyewear, a nude handbag, and a pair cognac brown ankle boots.

The combination doesn’t sound like anything special, but wait til you see it in action. Check out Emma’s outfit below:

How chic, right?!

I’m so in love with the layering. Each piece is well appointed and as a whole, it looks clean and elegant, despite being quite casual.

Would you like to take a cue and sport Emma’s look?  I’m sure you already have majority, if not, all of the pieces necessary to pull it off in your closet.

Aside from the mix of stripes and plaid, one of the highlights in Emma’s outfit are the cognac boots. You can tell from the pics that they really stand out thanks to the rich tan color.

For the ladies loving Emma’s boots, below is a closer look at the pair. They’re from Loeffler Randall. Dubbed as the “Felix”, they feature very short 1.5-inch-tall stacked heels and zipper closures on the back for ease of access. Other than those two details, the rest of the boots offer no frills save for clean elegant lines.
