Cheryl Fernandez-Versini is quite unapologetic about her budding romance with One Direction member, Liam Payne. In fact, the two are already openly dating.
On Tuesday, Cheryl and Liam held hands as they entered Sexy Fish bar in London. For the date, the brunette singer wore a printed jacket from Saint Laurent, and then teamed the piece with wide-leg culottes from By Malene Birger. Underneath the combo was a Juan Carlos Obando ruffled top.
It was a sporty-slash-feminine-slash-sophisticated combination, but what put me off was her choice of footwear — a pair of closed-toe t-strap pumps. While unique in silhouette, I found them to be quite unflattering on Cheryl and unsuitable for the outfit. Check here out below, and then tell me if you agree:

Well, ladies, what do you think? Did she pull off the pumps or no?
If you’re wondering which designer thought up of such an unusual-looking pair of shoes, that would be Tom Ford. Here they are up close for you. They’re crafted from a mix of suede and patent leather materials and feature PVC trimming in between. They also feature 4.5-inch-tall cylindrical heels, double ankle-wrap straps, and zipper closures on the back:
Like what you see? Would you wear the shoes?
You can find them over at Neiman Marcus, if interested. They retail at $1490. Personally, I wouldn’t spend that much on them. Instead, I’d go with these t-strap pumps from Steve Madden instead. They’re not only sexier, but very affordable too.
By the way, if you’re interested to check out the rest of Cheryl’s outfit, below are the trousers, top, and jacket. Combined, the whole getup will cost you over $5000.
