Looks like Ariana Grande is finally over headbands and high ponytails. The young singer attended the American Music Awards held  in Los Angeles on Sunday with a different hairstyle for a change. For the occasion, she went with a top knot instead, and skipped the usual playsuit in favor of a real couture dress from Giambattista Valli.

But before you say thank goodness, I thought you should know that Ariana did put on her “costume” when she performed onstage. Fortunately for everyone, the petite powerhouse didn’t wear her headband. In fact, she FINALLY let her beautiful hair loose — which was a good thing because she looked a whole lot prettier with it.

Doesn’t Ariana look fabulous in these photos?

As previously noted, her mixed-media frock is from Giambattista Valli. Her jeweled sandals, on the other hand, are from DSQUARED2. Below is a similar pair in ruby and white satin.

Do you fancy the sandals or do you think they look too ostentatious?

I can’t say I’m a fan of the design, but if you think otherwise, you can easily score the pair online. They’re available at Zappos, and retail at a high $1845. The sandals are crafted with satin uppers, leather soles, and expensive crystals that simply scream luxury.
