Rihanna is a style icon for good reason. Anything she wears magically turns into something chic and wonderful. She can pull off just about anything. You can understand why the CFDA crowned her Style Icon of the Year last year.

While in New York on Saturday, the pop singer was spotted in an all-white ensemble as she braved the rainy weather with a big bright blue umbrella.

White isn’t something you can wear freely on a wet day, but somehow, Ri-Ri made it look alright. She was all poised and pretty in her pristine Simone Rocha two-piece outfit. Capping off the combo were white rimmed sunnies and a pair of frilly white low-heeled mary janes detailed with plexiglass heels.

To be honest, the getup — especially the shoes — reminded me of a nurse’s uniform, but one who scored her white suit at a glamorous high-fashion boutique. On someone else, the outfit might have looked questionable, but on Ri-Ri, it simply worked.

How do you like Rihanna’s latest street style, love or hate?

I like it. Sure, a pair of tall pointy stilettos would have looked better with the ensemble, but those mary janes infused a different kind of flavor to her sweet and dainty getup. Would you agree?

Rihanna’s frilly pumps are actually also from Simone Rocha. They feature scalloped trimming around the back, pointed toes, and low plexiglass heels. Below is a closer look at the pair:

To be honest, I’m not fond of low-heeled mary janes, but these shoes from the designer look very unique yet wearable that I might even consider grabbing them if only they weren’t so expensive. You can actually score them online if you’re interested. They retail at $791. Do you think they’re worth it?
