Is former Ms. Universe Olivia Culpo trying to channel Kim Kardashian?
It appears the beauty queen is taking style notes from the reality TV star, because she was spotted looking just like Kim while taking a stroll in New York City on Wednesday.
Whether or not Olivia was off to an event, I cannot say. However, her outfit was very, well, Kim K., so it was hard to miss. For the day, Ms. Culpo wore an army green ribbed-knit crop top and matching high-waist pencil skirt. She then topped off the combo with a long coat in the same color, and punctuated with a pair of suede ankle-tie sandals. Her hair and makeup were flawless and she complemented with gold accessories, including a gold box clutch from Jimmy Choo.

What are your thoughts on Olivia’s street style, people? Do you find it a little bit contrived?
I do. And I seriously think she’s channeling her inner Kim K. with this outfit. Also, while looking at these photos, I couldn’t help but notice how the “candid” pictures look, er, staged; kind of like how a fashion blogger would ask her photographer friend to take pictures while she showcases her OOTD.
That said, I’m not going to deny Olivia looks good here. She does. She looks perfect and the outfit is spot on. I don’t have the details on her matching separates, but what I can tell you is that her sandals are from Alexandre Birman. They’re called the Leather Bow Tie sandals. If I’m not mistaken, they come in two heel heights and several renditions, a pair with 4-inch stilettos and another with a more comfortable 3 inches. Below are some other versions you might want to check out:

Alexandre Birman Leather Bow Tie Sandals in Black (3 inches), $595
The design is an updated take on the classic ankle strap sandal. It’s a little more flamboyant, but still versatile and season-less. If you can appreciate, feel free to grab a pair in your size. But if you wish to channel Olivia’s style for less, don’t overspend on the footwear. Just purchase matching separates that fit your budget, and then cap off with simple ankle-strap sandals like these:
